Yoga_ the Art of Manifesting Your Success, Health and Freedom

"Yoga is a  technology to change the way you function into the way you want.

Yoga is a technology for enhancing perception by expanding your dimension, something more than you are right now

 It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment;
harmony between man and nature and a holistic approach to health and well-being.

Yoga is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with ourselves, the world and Nature.

By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us to deal with
climate change.

It is an art and science for healthy living, living consciously.

Definition of Yoga
The word  "Yoga" is derived from the Sanskrit root yuj meaning "to join", "to yoke" or "to unite".

It is an art and science for healthy living. The word "Yoga" is derived
from the Sanskrit root yuj meaning "to join", "to yoke" or "to unite".

Aim of Yoga
According to Yogic scriptures, the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with universal consciousness.

According to modern scientists, everything in the universe is just a
manifestation of the same quantum firmament.

 One who experiences
this oneness of existence is said to be "in Yoga" and is termed as a yogi who has attained a state of freedom, referred to as mukti, nirvฤna, kaivalya or moksha.

"Yoga" also refers to an inner science comprising of a variety of methods through which human beings can achieve union between the body and mind to attain self-realisation ( that you and the others are part of the same realm and need to live inclusively).

The aim of Yoga practice (sฤdhana) is to overcome all kinds of sufferings that lead to a sense of freedom in every walk of life with holistic health, happiness and
harmony.

Sufferings and miseries like dis-ease, grief , bad news etc are part and parcel of life drama. However, it's how we deal with these situations that really matter.

Pain and sufferings are two things. Pain is a Physical necessity that is required for your existence. Because of pain we are alive and tend to reduce accidnets. What you really suffer, suffering is a mental aspect, created in your mind and  is based on memories of past experiences and future imaginations. The aim is to live consciously because only what is happening at this moment is in your control. And if you are in control at this moment then you can be joyful. A series of such moments made into a habit makes you exuberant and reduces sufferings. And that is the real aim of being in Yog.

Yoga also helps improve the behaviour of children, help them to avoid unnecessary sensory tastes, thereby improving concentration and reach their goals ( helps in studies).

Yoga helps parents prevent diseases in future generations by improving the health of parents and  synchronising their genes before conception. Thereby creating good future generations.

Yoga in teenagers helps avoid the use of drugs, and other addictions by making them understand the realities and laws of life .

In simple words , Yoga practice can make you a SUPER HUMAN being who is capable of dealing with any kind of stress in the most amicable way and create a sense of oneness for everlasting peace in the world; thereby avoiding sufferings, poverty, fear, wars, climate changes and unnecessary turmoils

The Fundamentals of Yoga

Yoga works on the level of one's body, mind, emotion and energy. This has given rise to four broad classifications of Yoga:
1. Karma Yoga where we utilise the body;
2. Jnฤna Yoga where we utilise the mind;
3.Bhakti Yoga where we utilise the emotion and
4. Kriya Yoga where we utilise the energy.

Each system of Yoga we practice falls within the gamut of one or more of these categories.

Every individual is a unique combination of these four factors

Each school has its own approach and practices that lead to the ultimate aim and
objectives of Yoga.

Yogic practices for health and wellness

The widely practiced Yoga sadhanas are: Yama, Niyama, ฤ€sana, Prฤnฤyฤma, Pratyฤhara, Dhฤrana, Dhyฤna, Samฤdhi, Bandhas and
Mudras, Shatkarmas, Yuktฤhฤra, Mantra-japa, Yukta-karma etc.

Yamas are restraints and Niyamas are observances. These are
considered to be pre-requisites for further Yogic practices.

ฤ€sanas, capable of bringing about stability of body and mind, "kuryat-tad-
asanam-sthairyam", involve adopting various psycho-physical body
patterns and giving one an ability to maintain a body position (a
stable awareness of one's structural existence) for a considerable
length of time.

Prฤnฤyฤma consists of developing awareness of one's breathing followed by willful regulation of respiration as the functional or vital basis of one's existence. It helps in developing awareness of one's
mind and helps to establish control over the mind. In the initial
stages, this is done by developing awareness of the "flow of in-breath
and out-breath" (svฤsa-prasvฤsa) through nostrils, mouth and other
body openings, its internal and external pathways and destinations.

Later, this phenomenon is modified, through regulated, controlled and monitored inhalation (svฤsa) leading to the awareness of the
body space getting filled (puraka), the space(s) remaining in a filled state (kumbhaka) and it getting emptied (rechaka) during regulated,
controlled and monitored exhalation (prasvฤsa).

Pratyฤhara indicates dissociation of one's consciousness (withdrawal) from the sense organs which connect with the external
objects.

Dhฤrana indicates broad based field of attention (inside the body and mind) which is usually understood as concentration.

Dhyana (meditation) is contemplation (focussed attention inside the body and mind) and

Samฤdhi (integration).

Bandhas and Mudras are practices associated with Prฤnฤyฤma. They
are viewed as the higher yogic practices that mainly adopt certain
physical gestures along with control over respiration. This further facilitates control over mind and paves way for higher Yogic attainment.

However practice of dhyฤna, which moves one towards self-realisation and leads one to transcendence, is considered the
essence of Yoga Sฤdhana.

ลšaแนญkarmas are detoxification procedures that are clinical in nature
and help to remove the toxins accumulated in the body.

Yuktฤhฤra
advocates appropriate food and food habits for healthy living.

Before doing Yogasanas, we should know about Yama and Niyama too, because it helps in maintaining our personality and behaviour.

 Yama

1. Ahimsa- means nonviolence, not uttering bad words, bad actions and bad thoughts.

2. Satyam- saying and performing only the truth

3. Asteya- Avoiding greed of other person and other's possession.

4. Aparigraham-not wanting others help. Trying to be independent.

5. Brahmacaryam-having a moderation of food, actions, and rest.

Niyamas

1. Suddhi-

2. Santosha: means happy. Being content leads to Happiness.

3. Tapas: means tolerating the duals of life.

4. Swadhyayam: doing one's own duty.

5. Eeshwarapranidhanam: Expressing gratitude to the Almighty and others .
